Application via Pump-Action Sprayer

Step 1

Gather Equipment and Prepare Fertiliser Solution

1. Gather Equipment: Collect the necessary equipment – a pump-action sprayer, suitable fertiliser for your plants, measuring tools, protective gear (gloves, goggles), and clean water.

2. Choose Suitable Fertiliser: Select a water-soluble fertiliser appropriate for your plant type and growth stage. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing ratios.

Step 2

Prepare Fertiliser Solution

1. Measure Fertiliser: Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines to measure the correct amount of fertiliser.
2. Mix with Water: Fill a separate container with the appropriate amount of clean water. Gradually add the measured fertiliser, stirring or agitating the solution to dissolve it completely. Ensure thorough dissolution to prevent clogging the sprayer.

Step 4

Apply Fertiliser

1. Adjust Nozzle Settings: Select an appropriate nozzle setting on the sprayer for the desired spray pattern (fine mist, stream, etc.) and adjust the pressure if applicable.
2. Spray Technique: Hold the pump-action sprayer comfortably and at an appropriate height above the plants. Start spraying, moving steadily and evenly to ensure uniform coverage.
3. Cover Plants Evenly: Ensure thorough coverage of the plants with the fertiliser solution without saturating or causing runoff.

Step 5

Clean Up and Maintenance

1. Rinse Sprayer: After application, rinse the sprayer tank, nozzle, and wand thoroughly with clean water to remove any remaining fertiliser solution.

2. Flush System: To prevent clogs, flush the sprayer system with clean water and clean the filter or nozzle components if needed.

3. Store Properly: Store the pump-action sprayer in a dry and safe place, following manufacturer recommendations to maintain its longevity.
