The Science Behind Our Products

Oliver Wendell Holmes is quoted as saying, “I would not give a fig for the simplicity this side of complexity, but I would give my life for the simplicity on the far side complexity.”

We at Soil Renew go through the complexity of soil biology to simplify the process for you, our valued fellow soil nerds.

In developing the Soil Renew range, we focus on the science of Soil Biology, optimising a healthy growing environment for plants to produce the foods we eat. Understanding the relationships between soil microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, soil enzymes, arthropods, algae, actinomycetes, and protozoa is essential in understanding soil complexity and resolving food-growing issues.

Studying the symbiotic relationship these groups have with each other through science gives us a unique opportunity to improve our lives on all levels, including our health, physical, mental, and personal well-being.

Understanding the living soil biota system and its complexity through study and real-world trials with these microcosms has led to significant discoveries in this field of science. These discoveries are great leaps ahead for all earth’s biodiversity and are pivotal in ensuring our sanctity of life.

Understanding the science and working with new discoveries of living soil relationships, mineral and vitamin mobilisation in soil profiles, organic matter processes, ecosystem functions, soil health immune responses, carbon sequestration, food vitamin and mineral retention, and long-term climate outcomes is inspiring and encouraging as we move forward as stewards of our planet.

At Soils Renew, we harness global technologies, often with groundbreaking results, to ensure the greatest outcomes in plant growth and production optimisation for agriculture, horticulture, and permaculture as we forge towards a sustainable future.

By utilising the latest technologies and molecular biosciences, we can formulate solutions to soil issues that are often prevalent in a monoculture-growing environment.

Soil mineralisation and fertiliser use can often be optimised through the natural manipulation of soil microcosms, often producing a greater outcome for both produce quality and return on investment. For commercial producers, limited fertiliser use while taking care to protect the soil biome can often give the ultimate results in both quality and financial return.

Soil Renew biological mixes are carefully and studiously formulated to target overall soil health and address common specific issues of the soil biota system. This ensures that the symbiotic relationships benefit the overall and longer-term soil health profile outcomes.

Our approach to soil health and plant production is a holistic approach. We encourage best soil practices such as composting, ground covers, plant biodiversity, green cropping, water harvesting and a “Soil Renew” approach, as there is no singular answer to healthy plant production but a collaboration of practices and sciences that will provide the ultimate outcome.
