Our 450m2 packets have been designed around the average-size garden in Australia. This way, you can treat all the soil in your garden, including the grassed areas. Though it is not necessary to treat the whole garden, our aim is cultivating soil health, and to this end, encouraging the growth of beneficial microbes throughout the entire area will positively affect your garden beds.

Dilution and Spreading Directions

Please follow all Safety instructions on your label.

Step 1

Your first consideration is whether you need to dechlorinate your water. This will depend on the source, but most town water will be chlorinated.

To dechlorinate your water:
a. Let it stand for 24 hours before adding biology. Preferably in the sun.

or

b. Add 1 gram of vitamin C powder per 150 litres of water.

Step 2

In total, you will need 100 litres of water. The best drums to use are wide-mouth drums with a tap on the bottom, either 2 x 50-litre drums or 4 x 25-litre drums. These are easily purchased from camping stores or online. When you have the drums, set them on a stand high enough so you can fill your watering can or pressurised system with the tap at the bottom of the drum.

Safety Note: Use manageable drum sizes to avoid strain—filled 50L drums weigh about 50kg. Ensure drums are on a stable stand to prevent tipping.

Step 3

If using 4 x 25-litre drums, fill them and leave them to stand for 24 hours. Then, remove 2.5 litres from each drum into a bucket, dilute the biology in the bucket, and add it back to the drums. If using 2 x 50 litre drums, do the same, but remove 5 litres from each drum to a bucket, mix the biology and then return it to the drums and give it a quick stir.

Step 4

You are now ready to start spreading the biology using which-ever method you prefer:

a. Watering Can

b. Handheld Pressurised Sprayer

c. Pressurised Backpack Sprayer

Step 5

The spread rate will be approximately one cup per square metre. To understand what it looks or feels like, mark out an area 5Lm x 5Lm, which will give you 25 Sq/Metre. This area will need 6.25 (or 6.25 kg of mixture). Add that amount to your spreading system and see how long it takes to spray it over the area. This will show you how fast to spread it to get the correct amount for the area.

Step 6

Apply to the soil, not plant leaves, as the microorganisms will populate the soil. For most domestic situations, this is a simple starting protocol. The biology can be diluted in 70 litres to 300 litres of water. Experiment with your spreading system of choice to find a comfortable rate for spreading the solution over 450 square metres. We realise that you will not necessarily have a 450sq. metre yard. The minimum a packet should be spread over is 200sq. metres.

Note: While our example uses 100 litres, feel free to dilute the biology in 70 to 300 litres of water without adjusting its concentration. This flexibility lets you find the best spreading rate for your yard size.

Assisting Biology

As you are applying living microorganisms that require soil food sources, a monthly application of quality worm juice, liquid carbons, quality kelp, or simple sugars and carbohydrate soil biostimulants can assist in the multiplication of the biology in your soil. Pretreatment of soils with the above-mentioned biostimulants will also assist. We recommend consistent applications until the desired results are achieved. Soil biology and diversity develop over time.
